Welcoming 2015 (a little late!)

Well hey there! Yeah, I know I’ve been really bad at blogging for about… two years! Would it help if I said I was busy? 🙂 Life has changed a lot for me since I last posted – lots of good stuff, just big stuff! Quick recap: in 2013 around the time of my last entry I met this great man, got engaged later that year, moved my office, got married in early 2014, moved 2 hours south, finally sold my townhouse at the end of last year and am now a week away from celebrating my 1-year anniversary. Phew! Yeah, it’s been a little crazy. Of course, life always feels like it’s a little crazy, I suppose.

Amidst all these big life changes, my time in the “studio” has been a bit slow as well. I’m making efforts to change that this year though! Firstly, I’ve committed to tackling the Sketchbook Project to help me contribute weekly to a sketchbook which will ultimately be digitized and get to travel the country on display for a few months. This has been a great opportunity for me to experiment and sketch consistently without worrying about being “perfect” with my drawing and painting. If you want to follow my work-in-progress pics and videos, follow me on Instagram or “like” my Beth Colletti Art Facebook page. And stay tuned for links to the entire digitized sketchbook in the next few months.

Also this year, I am trying to expand my palette, devouring art classes and books on different tips and techniques. I can’t wait to delve into some new mixed media and embroidery projects (and plan to combine the two at some point!) Keep an eye on my Etsy shop (Bettina’s Treehouse will be renamed later this year) for new items, and check clearance sales there as I make room for new stuff!

I promise to do a better job keeping in touch this year, and also have plans to renovate my website. The name and look will be changing here as well. Excited for what’s to come in 2015, and I hope you’ll join me on the journey!
